Official flyer for the Jamaica Business Development Corporation (JBDC) ‘The Perfect Finish’ workshop series to be held on October 5, 12 19 and 26, at its Incubator & Resource Centre located at 76 Marcus Garvey Drive in Kingston. The sessions will focus on merging metal and wood to make jewellery.

Jewellery enthusiasts are being reminded to register for the upcoming Jamaica Business Development Corporation (JBDC) four-day workshop, ‘The Perfect Finish: Metal Meets Wood’, before the October 2 deadline.

To be held every Saturday in October at the JBDC Incubator & Resource Centre, this immersive workshop will delve into advanced jewellery-making techniques, with a special focus on seamlessly combining metal and wood.

Each session will run from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., offering a unique opportunity for participants to hone their skills under the guidance of renowned jewellery artisans Valentine McLean and Donna-Gay Uter.

With limited spots available, interested individuals are encouraged to act quickly by sending an email to duter@jbdc.net or contacting the JBDC Incubator & Resource Centre at 876-618-0605 or 876-758-3966.

The registration fee of $33,500.00 must be paid by October 2 to guarantee participation.

In addition to live demonstrations from the expert trainers, attendees will gain valuable hands-on experience with key techniques, such as metal melting, hammering, and milling.

They will also explore the art of integrating sterling silver and wood, producing distinctive and innovative jewellery designs.
