There has been a 12 per cent increase in sweet yam production under the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries’ Production Incentive Programme for the 2019/20 fiscal year when compared to the corresponding period of 2018/19. A memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed on June 30 between the EXIM Bank and Jamaica Promotions Corporation (JAMPRO) to provide export development support for 48 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) seeking to access new markets for their products and services.
