Monymusk to get solar power for irrigation system

The Monymusk sugar factory in Clarendon is set to become the first sugar factory in Jamaica to have its irrigation system powered by solar energy. This was announced today, November 7, 2017, by Minister of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries, Hon Karl Samuda, at the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between SCJ Holdings Ltd and BMR Energy LLC at the St Lucia Avenue offices of his Ministry. Samuda heads to 45th Meeting of the Council for Trade and Economic Development

Minister of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries, Hon. Karl Samuda is to depart the island on Wednesday, November 8 to attend the 45th meeting of the Council for Trade and Economic Development (COTED) in Georgetown, Guyana. Minister Samuda will join counterpart Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Ministers at the two day meeting from November 9-10 to consider and take decisions on regional trade and economic agenda items.
