RADA spearheads establishment of agricultural extension network

Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries Minister, the Hon. Audley Shaw, has welcomed the establishment of the Jamaica country forum for an agricultural extension providers network, being spearheaded by the Rural Agricultural Development Authority (RADA). The network, aimed at strengthening the provision of agricultural and rural advisory services in a coordinated manner will include participation from all stakeholder groups which provide these services. The Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce is described as Jamaica's "Business Ministry." It's mandate is to lead the development of policies that will create growth and jobs, while achieving social inclusion and consumer protection. The Ministry, working its stakeholders is primarily responsible for business policy development, monitoring and evaluation, while giving direction and oversight to a cluster of implementing departments and agencies.
