PM Urges Supermarkets To Promote Local Produce

Prime Minister, the Most Hon. Andrew Holness, is calling for supermarket suppliers to reduce food imports and promote more home-grown produce. “I’m not here saying that we must not import. The nature of our economy is that we have to import but… we have to be more strategic in our imports. We don’t need to import everything, especially when we can produce it right here in Jamaica,” he said. “We need to eat less processed, imported foods and more homegrown foods – yams, carrots, and tomatoes. JBDC Mapping Cultural And Creative Industries

The Jamaica Business Development Corporation (JBDC) is conducting a mapping exercise of cultural and creative industries in Jamaica to determine the value of the sector and develop recommendations on how to grow the creative economy. 83,000 Used Vehicles Inspected Under Pre-shipment Regime

A total of 83,000 imported used cars have been examined under the Government’s Pre-Shipment Inspection regime since its implementation in February 2018.
