A large Jamaican delegation of public and private sector entities will embark on a mission to Georgetown, Guyana, scheduled for October 2nd – 7 th 2022. SENATOR Aubyn Hill said changes made in the Senate on Friday to the Special Economic Zones (SEZs) Act are to ensure compliance with international obligations. The proposed amendments to the SEZ Act include not allowing entities that carry out intellectual property activities within SEZs to operate after March 31, 2023. A book that chronicles the development of the Bureau of Standards Jamaica (BSJ) from its formative years into what has become one of the Caribbean’s foremost authorities on standardisation was launched on Thursday (September 29). The National Compliance and Regulatory Authority (NCRA) is making a special appeal to block makers to ensure that standards are maintained when making their products.
