$118m Allocated for Farmers Affected by Recent Flood Rains

Minister of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries, Hon. Karl Samuda has announced that $118m dollars has been made available to farmers affected by heavy rains last month. Over 10,000 farmers were affected by the May rains, with losses amounting to an estimated $794m. The Ministry, working its stakeholders is primarily responsible for business policy development, monitoring and evaluation, while giving direction and oversight to a cluster of implementing departments and agencies.
