Minister Samuda Expresses Optimism for Sugar Industry

Minister of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries, Hon. Karl Samuda is expressing optimism for the 2016/2017 sugar crop season. He said it is expected that there will be a resumption of operations at the Appleton Sugar Factory in St. Elizabeth, come the first week in January. 100 Acres to be Planted with Irish Potato In St. Thomas

Preparation is to begin immediately for the planting of Irish potato on 100 acres of land in the Plantain Garden River Agro-park in St. Thomas. Minister without Portfolio in the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries, Hon. J.C. Government Removes GCT on Agricultural Inputs

Cabinet has decided to remove the General Consumption Tax (GCT) on a long list of agricultural inputs. This announcement was made by Minister of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries, Hon. Karl Samuda, during the sitting of the House of Representatives on November 8.
