Agriculture Minister Outlines Model for the Allocation of Cane Lands

Minister of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries, Hon. Karl Samuda, says the system used to allocate cane lands to farmers at Monymusk sugar factory, in Clarendon, will likely be used across the island. The Government is exploring a range of non-traditional products to market overseas, as part of a deliberate strategy to expand exports. The Jamaica Business Development Corporation (JBDC) and First Angels Jamaica (FAJ) have signed a three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), under which micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) will receive assistance to deliver winning business pitches. Minister Expects Agriculture to Grow by 30% in Final Quarter

Hutchinson, says the agricultural sector is expected to grow by 30 per cent for the final quarter of this year, ending December 31.
