FAO set to fire up hot pepper market

The Government of Jamaica has partnered with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations to boost the island’s international competitiveness in the hot pepper industry. Businesses Being Encouraged to Implement Apprenticeship Programmes for Unattached Youth

The Minister of Industry, Investment and Commerce, Senator Aubyn Hill, is encouraging businesses to implement apprenticeship programmes for unattached youth. His call follows the Government’s desire to address labour shortages across several sectors. The paint manufacturing company Sherwin-Williams is being hailed for its entrepreneurial and community outreach values by Minister of Industry, Investment and Commerce, Senator the Hon. Aubyn Hill. Gov’t to Establish Export Academy

The Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce is described as Jamaica's "Business Ministry." It's mandate is to lead the development of policies that will create growth and jobs, while achieving social inclusion and consumer protection. The Ministry, working its stakeholders is primarily responsible for business policy development, monitoring and evaluation, while giving direction and oversight to a cluster of implementing departments and agencies.
