Government lifts ban on corned beef

Government has lifted the temporary ban on corned beef imported from Brazil. This announcement was made by the Hon Karl Samuda, Minister of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries, at a media briefing held at the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries Hope Gardens offices in Kingston today (April 4). “We have been able to establish that the sources of Brazilian corned beef imported into Jamaica were not compromised and so we are now in a position to resume importation of corned beef from Brazil, said Minister Samuda.” Minister Samuda stated that the ban on canned...

Minister reiterates that agriculture will contribute to growth

Hon. Karl Samuda, Minister of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries, has reiterated his belief that the agriculture sector will make a significant contribution to Government’s growth agenda. Tools and supplies valued at $900,000 were presented to 15 primary schools in St. Elizabeth by Minister without portfolio in the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries Hon J.C. Banana, plantain production increase in 2016
